The farm began as a vision from Charles and was nothing more than heavily wooded bottom land in a remote area of south-central Zambia bordering the Kafue River. Charles traveled three hours each way to “stump” the land each weekend. “Stumping” is when trees are cut down and the stumps are physically dug out by hand creating land that can be tilled or plowed. Today 90% of the land, roughly 30 acres, has been cleared and is rich fertile land capable of producing healthy crops such as corn, bananas, tomatoes and a variety of vegetables. Currently the farm produces over half of the fresh vegetables needed to feed the Mufutuli orphans, staff, Charles’s family and nearby villagers who work the land. The farm is an integral and critical element to the success of Mufutuli ministries as a focal point to engage nearby villagers in the work of Mufutuli and as a catalyst to share the Gospel.
